Reading Travel Bloggers – a few at a time

Travel Tips: Pick a few bloggers to read most for a year

There are so many great travel writers out on the Internet. Are there really top travel bloggers? No! I say now but when I started I thought there were. Now I just pick a few to follow for some time. How do you pick a few? For me, I looked back at whose sites I seemed to go to regularly and want to go read. There is limited time each week so finding only a few keeps me busy. These travel bloggers each setup up their site differently with pictures and stories mixed my eye can wander when short on time or spend time reading. We have shared many sunsets.

There a tons of terrific travel bloggers beyond this short list. Find the ones you like this year and let us know. Or tell us who you like to follow and why? Introduce us to new travel bloggers!

http://www.thetravelchica.com/ is a young women with a lot of courage to go out and explore in South America by immersing herself in the culture. Great way to visit places you may never go or have the courage to travel alone.

http://travelingwithsweeney.com/ Cathy quietly goes to places in Europe and California sharing her brand of travel with lots of photos and eating where you get a real sense of the cities. While exploring, it becomes easy to get to know the traveling Cathy.

http://www.sophiesworld.net/ Sophie takes us far and wide in Europe with an emotion and pictures to get a great view of corners of the world. The stories mixed with the pictures draw me into the World of Sophie  while getting to know her a little at a time.

http://myexpatgermany.com/ Laurel helps me understand being expat in another country with its challenges and fun. Having been to Germany, I find her travel beyond areas I visited enlightening. Her challenges and triumphs come through in the pictures and writing. I like visiting regularly

http://europeantravelista.com/ Debbie loves Europe and shares her travels with pictures and fun words on her explorations into new and old territory. Sharing her adventures gives us a chance to get to know her and her travels.

http://struxtravel.com/ Michael travels from West Coast to East coast and other far flung places. It is fun to read and see the pictures of his journey. We get to know Michael a little bit by his travels and writing

http://www.budgettraveladventures.com/ Jeremy surprises us with his great ideas and series. He travels through California and hops a plane to go to other USA cities. Europe is a place he has been and shares with us too. Budget Travel is the theme.

http://www.solotravelgirl.com/ Jennifer site is great to jump over to see where or what she is doing lately. Fascinating stories and variety of travels or just stories on Florida or National parks. Always something fun to read.

http://www.wanderlustwonder.com/ Jan travels a lot to places she has arranged ahead to write about. Quietly she is building her expertise while enjoying the benefits of travel writing. Jan writes for print and the web.

This list is no way inclusive of all the blogs I read but the ones I continually go to most weeks to support by tweeting, stumbling, and commenting. Find a small group to concentrate on each year makes it easier to get to know more and more bloggers. I go back to ones I have featured or visited before – just less often – this gives me a broader view of the world. I like that!
