Star Trek at Kennedy Space Center
Star Trek Halloween Costume Contest will be on Saturdays during the Month of October at the Astronaut Encounter Theater. Florida residents get $5 off admission for the month of October. The Costume contest has Commander Club Annual Passes as prizes. This is a great time to visit the Star Trek exhibit to view the uniforms worn by actors over the last four decades of Star Trek shows.

A replica of U.S.S. Enterprise Bridge and allows you to sit in Captain Kirk’s commander seat. The control panels and lighting offer a chance for Star Trekkie to act out their fantasy flights. The exhibit offers so much to look at and read separated into two buildings.

The early Star Trek includes the Guardian of Forever time portal is a great photographic opportunity to interact with memories of shows gone by and to research and find more information on some of these artifacts. My search has taken me to the Internet and many technologies for storage of memorabilia – YouTube and Flickr have a host of information.
Moving from the IMAX building over to the another building with a huge room houses much of the information on the many Star Trek Actors with plaques of the many Star Fleet commanders and their crews with time lines to the many time periods of the four decade run of shows.

As you walk around it becomes apparent you could spend many hours here reading and absorbing all the information of the four decades. More time would have been great but I wanted to get to the Astronaut Museum too and the day just flew by as I wandered and explored the Space Center.

Star Trek Live (a stage show) is both informative and fun interactive Stage Show of approximately 30 minutes. Kids are invited to interact with the Star Fleet Actors includes one Vulcan to defend during an attack from a renegade Romulan.

Exploration of science using the latest technologies and special effects to protect Earth. This was a fun show worth seeing for all ages.

Don’t forget to ride the Shuttle Craft Simulator for a Virtual Reality with Physical Movement of a mission in space.
Kennedy Space Center a great place to see where some of the science fiction writers of Star Trek predicted many of today’s Space Exploration tools. Flip phones, ipads, and other communication devices are predicated on many of the items we have seen TV and Movies Series about Space.
I missed seeing the Star Trek movie and after writing this post will have to make a trip to see them on the big screen. I would love to go back and explore more about the Star Trek exhibit preparing for the visit with more Internet exploration of the four decades of shows to better understand what I am seeing. Reading the many plaques would have been informative without the Internet preparation.

I love the Space Center… this is exactly why it is one of the coolest museum/amusement/recreation sights in the world. It combines science while appealing with the imagination!
I am really jealous that you got to see it (and probably even sit in Kirk’s seat)!!!
Wow I’d love to be the fly on the wall on this event! I so do not want to miss this! I’ll be getting the best Spock look I could so that I could bag the prizes this event has to offer!
I feel that I’m like in another dimensions or in a large spaceship. I would love to visit the Kennedy Space Center anytime. I love Star Trek! This sounds like so much fun.
