Universal Studios Orlando Resort Summer Concert Series is a welcome addition for those of us who love the concerts. The Live concerts are a treat. The series starts off with Go-Go’s with their own star on the Hollywood walk of Fame.
The series runs from Mid June to Mid July with a variety of bands and groups who are hit artists. This is the third year of the concert series and a very popular event. The Concert Series part of your admission ticket and includes After Party at CityWalk. Concerts start at 9:00 pm.
As the Concert starts you can see in the background the Hollywood Rip Ride RockIt Coaster lite up scooting around the track which is a nice addition to all the lights. The Concert is mostly a standup viewing event unless you snag a bench or chair ahead.
Those who are die-hard fans line up ahead to get into the kettle area formed with Crowd Control Barriers in front of the stage. Many racks of crowd control barriers are situated to direct fans into areas within the front lawn and walkways with Beer Carts strategically placed.
Staging decorations to create an atmosphere are part of everything theme parks do. It is stage craft at its most creative to have everyone feel they are enjoying summer gathering.
The fun starts with the atmosphere before the concert. Beach chairs and umbrellas are set up on the street for the length in front of the Concert Venue, scatter about to create a beach party. There are surfboards., planters with summer flowers, bicycles, and other items to remind one of summer fun and activities.

Tuna Fish Croissant with Potato Salad, Cantaloupe, and Strawberry
Before settling in for the Concert I find it is enjoyable to eat at Boulangerie where I love the Tuna Fish Croissant with potato salad, cantaloupe, and strawberry. This is a nice treat and delicious with the fruit it makes it a very healthy dinner.

Snag one of the chairs means getting there more than an hour early. Sitting and watching the stilt walker play with the hula hoops. The kids and adults to keep them occupied and engaged brings back memories of summers gone by where kids played in the streets until dusk. Watching both adults and kids try the
Hula hoops brings giggles to both those trying them and those watching.
Remembering summer days gone by is a by-product of being at these concerts. Just relaxing away from electronic devices is a vacation for me. There was a nice breeze blowing my hair and gently touching my face. The stars were coming out in the darken sky. Some people dance in the street or just sway to the music beat. Singing along to the words of the songs they know transports the people back to another time and place.
I am very far from the Stage with handheld camera but this gives you the gist of the concert, setup and crowd in front of me. I am sitting back near the lifeguard stand. Off to the side there are screens for those farther back to be able to watch the concert close-ups. There are huge screens back where I am too for others to be able to view since it is difficult to see over the tops of heads in the sea of people in front of the stage and filling the stage lawn.
Concerts to me in the out doors are part of feeling like you are on vacation even if only for a night. It is a nice break from normal routine. A pleasant surprise for tourist who had no idea there were concerts. A nice safe evening out.

Sounds like such fun. Love the guy on the stilts! You totally made me hungry with that croissant photo! Enjoy!

Cathy, Thank you for commenting. Loved the guy on the stilts too and he seemed to be avoiding being photographed. They are usually decked out in costumes that expose skin on both the males and females. Love the stilt walkers for Mardi Gras and Macy Parade too.
I love summer concerts. The Go Gos would be cool to see.

I skipped the one last night because it was hip hop and that is not one of the genre I like
