Love having free parking and baseball in uncrowded stadium
Making a trip to Tampa is about an hour and the gas is crazy but to get in a few baseball games where the parking is free and the seats are plentiful is the way I like it. Something about being in the New York Yankee Spring Training Stadium thrills me. I call it the mini Yankee stadium. They even play New York New York at the end. I have all the nostalgic without the hassle.
What a great way to get my Vitamin D3 in the sunny yet sometimes stormy afternoon. Hot yes, it is hot. I stop at Busch Gardens on the way back because they are open late for summer nights. Makes it feel like a big vacation even though it is less than a day. It is filled with fun pack things.
Joined the Silver Sluggers club which gets you a Tampa Yankees Cap, Free admission on Sundays with a hot dog, very small soda, and popcorn. All foods that aren’t good for you but part of the memories of going to the ballgame.
Autographs after the game are a highlight for the youngsters who snagged all the foul balls. There are usually a large number of them for several kids to have the thrill of having a baseball from a game.
Sometimes, tears well up with the memories of going with my mother to Yankee Stadium in New York. Much higher up in the stadium though. It is nice being close to the field. I sit behind the netting since I don’t want to chance being hit by a foul ball.
Find a baseball game near you. Take a lazy afternoon and enjoy. When is the last time you went to a game?
