Legoland central to Orlando Tampa located in Winter Haven Florida

Having been to two Legoland theme parks in Denmark and California, my heart and the child within can not wait to see what they create here in Florida. The park is 150 acres and includes some of Cypress Gardens former layout and beauty. Central to all Legoland parks is miniland with miniature versions of landmarks. Florida will have some of the same as California with Daytona Speedway and NASA Kennedy Space Center but will include Las Vegas, South Beach, and Key West. Other cites will include Washington DC, New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Pirates. The recreation of landmarks and their layout to me is fascinating and fun to capture on film and just study how did they do that. It is incredible to behold.

Merlin Entertainment bought the Land back in January 2010 and will  be opening the new park October 15, 2011 a nice quick turn around with ample marketing and pricing for annual passes being offered for almost 15 months. The parks are ideal for rides for 2 to 12-year-old but many adults will enjoy the craftsmanship of the Lego buildings and characters throughout the park.

Daytona Speedway will be present in the Florida Legoland Theme park. Noticing all the people in the stands and I am sure differences and detail will be amazing to identify for those racing fans from around the world. As you wander around the miniland section of the park there will be other familiar sights including NASA Kennedy Space Center but Florida Legoland will have the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) and other details. This is going to be so exciting especially after having visited the Space Center and being part of the Grail NASA tweetup and the Atlantis Landing Tweetup. The Rocket Garden is replicated along with a Shuttle. For all those Space Geeks this will be a walk down memory lane.

There is a lot to be seen as you walk around the park and through the Gardens of the Florida Legoland. Once it opens and I have gone on site I will have more photos and information to share. The Orlando Sentinel Theme Park ranger and photographer have published some pictures

Legoland pricing is probably best with an annual pass that includes parking to allow you more than one visit, well at least one person should purchase the pass that includes the parking. There is also a shuttle with preview pricing setup for only $5 round trip from Orlando Outlets very close to Crossroad shopping. People would need to get there by 8:30 am and possibly could use the i-drive trolley from their hotel if they are without a car. For a gas saver, I might try this bus too which starts on the first day October 15th with an eventually price of $10 which is still a gas saver for a small group or solo traveler.

I am really looking forward to seeing the new cities in miniland. Las Vegas, South Beach, Key West and other landmarks around Florida will be included. There are additions to Legoland since I was at the California Legoland. One nice part of entry is no finger printing like the other theme parks. I wonder what landmarks from around the World there will be at this creation. Sidney Opera House, Tai Mahal, or Paris as I have seen at the other parks.

Rockefeller Center in New York was fun to see recreated at the California Legoland along with Hollywood Bowl, the Hollywood sign, and the crookedest street in San Francisco. Something tells me they will be here as well. Happy adventures young and old and make some creations of your own with Lego Bricks. Don’t miss my other articles on Legoland around the World.

More to come after visiting the Park
