Arrive Early Fort Wilderness July 4 Golf Cart Parade
July 4 Fort Wilderness Campground Golf Cart Parade at Disney World is usually either July 3 or 4th starting at 9am. Check with the campground for the exact date. Get there early enough to get to the other end by Bus before Parade Starts. No buses on the road while Parade is in progress.

Love parades but this reminds me of parades when I was a kid where we dressed up our bicycles with streamers on the handle bars. Red, white, and blue crepe paper ribbons threaded through the spokes of our bikes for a very colorful look as the wheel spun as we rode down the road. Using playing cards with clothes pins for noise on the wheels.

This event is a must see. Camp there or take the Bus Transportation from your hotel to see this phenomenal event to celebrate the Birth of the United States of America in an Old Traditional Way. Lots of fun to see and talk to people about the work they put into their decorations. Perhaps, you will run into Uncle Sam outside the Trails End Restaurant before going in for the best lunch on Disney Property.

Hope you have a wonderful Fourth of July! I will. Pictures are from July 2007. Fireworks are terrific whether on TV with the concerts or in the crowds. Last night saw Fireworks around the Lagoon at Magic Kingdom and tonight will be at SeaWorld for their version of Fourth of July fireworks.

I love quirky parades! My hometown Columbus, Ohio has what they call the Doo Dah Parade to celebrate the 4th. They market it as the ‘anti-parade,’ and anyone can show up and participate. So much fun!

The parade when I was kid, seemed like it was like that, all of the kids dressed up their bikes and were in the parade. It was fun!

I’ve always told folks that Fort Wilderness is the best kept secret at Disney World. Even if they’re not staying at the campground or cabins, I highly recommend spending time at Fort Wilderness…and not just for the Hoop-Dee-Doo-Review.
…definitely my happy place.
