Water Taxi

Water Taxi is the best way to travel on the water in Fort Lauderdale, the Venice of America. See the sights during the day and night for only $15 for the whole day. Why take a tour that last only 1 1/2 hours to see the stars and rich homes? As you get on and off the Water Taxi, you have different Boat Captains and their assistant who point out and tell you about the different homes.

Stop downtown and eat. Go to the Beach.

Leave from near your hotel to go out and not have to drive or find parking places. Seeing the boats along the way, very huge boats parked in people’s backyards ( the water). The lights at night on the homes and buildings are specialas they sparkle in the night air. Even the rain squalls that came through were part of the charm of being on the water.

A great way to relax and unplug from the busyness of life while enjoying the serenity of the day. Unwinding was the best. Sitting in a small park on the water’s edge for a moment to reflect on the day.  Nice day. Excellent night.

The Chamber of Commerce in Lauderdale by the Sea told me about the Water Taxi. The woman highly recommended the Water Taxi because most people like it. It was a charming stop as I drove down Route A1A.

I loved this experience because I was looking for an inexpensive way to see the homes and area without have to drive and look or pay parking. I loved the informal descriptions of the homes. Reminded me of the Tour of the Stars homes in Hollywood in that most of the stars no longer lived there. These are the homes of the Very Rich Corporations and their owners or CEO’s. This tour was much better.

Highly recommended.

Being able to get on and off the boat until late in the evening was another great plus. Make sure before you go to take the phone number and pick a location where you want to start from and end up at the end of the evening. This was good as a full day of adventure and excursion.

Picking out pictures from over 150+ to use with this posting is difficult because there were so many homes and tributaries of canals off the main river. Funny one house they said was own by the people who own Windex, but, I wondered if it was comedy or fact. What do you think? The pictures are nice for revisiting my trip and the joy of the day.

Had an Iced Tea at the Pirate Restaurant which is probably lively in the evening but when I was there there was nothing but the pirates (wooden ones).

Will review the restaurant, Cafe la Bonne Crepe etc., where I had early dinner and a crepe desert  in a future posting.
