Travel tips: Enjoy a night with the Cultural Arts
The Orlando Philharmonic is in its 20th Season. A significant professional orchestra for Central Florida appearing in over 125 performances each year. For anyone loving music, there is a lot to offer. Numerous programs for all taste.
Last evening a group of bloggers enjoyed a rehearsal performance with Sarah Chang and the Orlando Philharmonic. Watching guest conductor Alasdair Neale tweak and change timing and tempo to create a masterpiece of harmony between the Orchestra and violin superstar Sarah Chang was a delight to watch and listen.
Each change brought out the flavor and tone of the instruments to a full body of sound. The sound is immense at times. Soothing at others. Seeing everyone in their street clothes working hard on mastering the best performance was an honor.
The performances on January 26 and 27 will feature Sarah Chang with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Adasdair Neale. The orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky Fifth Symphony, Rossini’s Semiramide Overture and Sarah Chang performing the Barber Violin Concerto.
Performances will be 8pm Saturday January 26th and 3pm Sunday January 27 at Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre in Downtown Orlando. Tickets range from $17 to $70 available at 407-770-0071
February 9 in the afternoon and evening come see and listen to My Funny Valentine. Albert George Schram is the conductor. Michael Andrea and his own band Swingerhead will join the Orlando Philharmonic. Michael will sing romantic tunes from the Great American Songbook.
