Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory

Established in 1925  in Daytona Beach gives short tours of their candy making.

Tour

The tour had quite a few people since The French Market on Beach street was drawing people to Historic downtown. All the different machines to make the chocolate just right. I missed part of the explanation because I was too far from the speaker but enjoyed being in the back to get pictures and just take my time looking. I like just watching and seeing everything in order to digest the information. Immediately as I watched my mind slipped back to Chocolat the Movie, a romance set in a French Village.

At the end of the tour you get a sample of candy and in the main part of the store coffee samples.

Both were absolutely delicious.

Lucy

The tour reminds you of the old I love Lucy clip where Ethel and Lucy are trying to wrap the chocolates and the belts speeds up. The workers were decorating and sprinkling the chocolates as they moved down the line for the next worker.

Candy Everywhere

The shop is filled with candy and coffee. Candy as roses, rabbits, rabbits on motorcycles as the store gets ready for the Easter Season. Candy boxes can be wrapped in pretty ribbons for valentines or St. Patrick’s Day or any occasion.

Train

It was fun to sit and drink the small sample coffee and notice the train over head make the rounds of the store while filled with candy packages.

Angell & Phelps ship candies all over the place for chocolate affectionados. The vases of roses in red foil were so pretty.

The shells in multiple colors were a nice touch for a beach store. Alligators and other characters are part of the chocolate eating fun.
