Choice Hotels Comfort Inn Airport Las Vegas Review

Several years ago, I joined Choice Hotels with no intention of using them much back in 2004. Now I use their points and online system whenever I travel. These hotels are for the budget minded. Comfort Inn is one of the many brands and offers breakfast. Some more fancy than others. This one has a plain breakfast but beautiful rooms and grounds. Breakfast are hard boiled eggs, cereal, oatmeal, prepackage bagel, danish, other starch. Then there is make your own waffle which is always a hit with everyone since it is something you never do at home. Juice, milk, water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate.

Prices for the hotel rooms vary depending on traffic. Doing a search allows you to pick a lower price hotel. They run specials where you stay two separate nights and get one (depends on points needed). By never staying two nights in a row you earn points so you can bring your overall costs down when traveling.

Even when I am staying in the same town,

I switch hotels.

Arriving late last night the desk clerk was super nice and prepare for my arrival with a nice quiet room on the ground floor to allow me to sleep pleasantly. With my Choice Membership (FREE) I am able to check out late if I ask at the front desk.  Comfort Inn Airport  is tempting to stay one more night BUT if I use points it would be 10,000 where as if I stay somewhere else it might be 6000 or 8000 which makes my points stretch further and my cost come down more. To get a free night I must change hotels. I like that promotion the best because staying 2 or 3 nights in the same place doesn’t usually happen when I travel.

I figure for every 1000 points it is $10. If you can get the hotel for less than that it is better to pay than use your points. So for 10,000 that would be $100 and I got the room with tax for $60. Therefore I will change hotels if I stay another night in Vegas just to get more points for future travel. Choice hotel points do expire so make sure you use them up. I have some from years ago that are expiring this year.

This particular hotel has a stove along with the traditional refrigerator and microwave. No dishes or silverware but if you are carrying your own it is nice. Most of choice hotels have Internet, refrigerators and microwave BUT check. Well the two low end ones, Econolodge and Rodeway are non traditional about everything. Check each hotel individually to see what is offered and whether there is a fee or not.

The points to book a room vary all over the place and you just have to check each one. Off season you have a better chance of getting a lower rate or stay at a Econolodge or Rodeway Inn for less points. These hotels don’t figure into the stay two nights and get a free one but are good sometimes to use that free night to stretch your points.

Travel should always be booked through Choicehotels.com or by 800 number to get the lowest rate and get the Stay 2 get 1 deals. It is best to know the hotel id number if using 800 number. Sometimes, I have stopped at the hotel I want, got the id number, then call to make the reservation. Walk in traffic usually pays the highest unless you have a coupon which means you lose out on other deals.

When I travel I am usually traveling on a shoestring budget so finding hotels that are mostly nice is important for the good feeling. Not all Choice Hotels are nice but most are. There are some that don’t belong. Some Econolodges are better than a comfort inn yet most Comfort Inns are better. I have seen Econolodge where the paint was peeling. I have stayed in Comfort Inn where the rugs were dirty, the baseboard unclean, and generally felt filthy. Inspect the room if in doubt, ask for another. Some owners just don’t know or understand what needs to be done.

This Las Vegas Airport Comfort Inn is a pleasant surprise. It is clean. No stains on the rugs. Landscape is nice. I would recommend this hotel to any traveler looking for nice inexpensive place in Las Vegas to stay.I have enjoyed my Choice Hotel Membership and the free nights. The free Internet is a must and a plus. While large name hotels charge you more up to $10 a day. My choice is Choice Hotels.

As a writer and traveler, I like to review and recommend places to my fellow travelers.
