What a delightful present!
Yes I will return for lunch in the future.
Signed up at least a couple of weeks before my birthday for the Chef’s table at their website and they sent me a certificate worth $30 toward a meal Monday through Thursday. This was not the only place I signed up for free food but that is another posting. This was the best offer. Great way for a company to spend marketing dollars. They sold me.
It has been a long time since I went to a Japanese Restaurant where they cook at the table. Used to go to the one at Disney for lunch but they kept raising the price and eliminating things. My dinner at Benihana included a nice onion soup, salad, shrimp and chicken appetizer, Main Entree, and desert. Since it was a birthday celebration it was a Sunday with two slices of bananas.
Delightful to see the prices weren’t outrageous. A dinner could be gotten for around $25 and it included soup, appetizer, meal, and desert. Not many places you can get a nice dinner for that price with a cooking show included too.
The chef was fun.
The normal flipping of food and a lot of rhythm with the cooking utensils. He cooked each part and placed them on the plates as they were finished so you could eat as you watched. As the evening progressed I realized how delighted and excited I was for this great present.
Truly felt special!
The meal is cooked on a teppanyaki table which is a grill of sorts surrounded by other guests. The salad has a special ginger dressing, contains sugar, which is why it is so delicious and addictive. Meals are usually beef, chicken, and/or seafood cooked on the sizzling grill surface. The fried rice they offer is not like fast food places but has egg, chicken and teriyaki sauce to give it a great flavor.
Benihani website has a video about the companies businesses http://www.benihana.com/about/video and if you go on YouTube and search for Benihana you can find and see some of the shows chefs put on for their guests. Each month they have chef’s special and express lunch is a great way to have great food in the middle of the day. Children enjoy the show the chef’s put on and there is a children menu.
Register today for the Chef’s Table and go for dinner now and during your birthday month.
Thank you Benihana for a wonderful meal and excellent evening.
Update June 19, 2011 Been back twice for lunch and sat in the area without the cooking at table for a nice lunch under $8 with same food just no show. Lunch is noon to 2:30 M-F but check the restaurant site
